چکیده
Pores and microfractures provide storage spaces migration pathways for gas accumulation in tight sandstones with low porosity permeability, acting as one of the controlling factors production. The development a rational rock physics model is essential better understanding elastic responses sandstone complex pore structures. Accordingly, seismic characterization pores based on provides valuable information predicting high-quality reservoirs. This paper proposes rock-physics-based approach to compute pore–microfracture indicator (PMI) from properties structure evaluation sandstones. PMI achieved axis rotation parameter space using well-log data. angle determined by finding maximum correlation between linearized combination parameters introduced factor associated total microfracture porosity. then estimated an inversion scheme double-porosity model. Finally, optimized employed obtained results are great benefit permeable zones, providing sweet spot

Rock physics characterization of shale reservoirs: a case study
Unconventional resources are typically very complex to model, and the production from this type of reservoirs is influenced by such complexity in their microstructure. This microstructure complexity is normally reflected in their geophysical response, and makes them more difficult to interpret. Rock physics play an important role to resolve such complexity by integrating different subsurface di...
متن کاملTight Gas Sandstone Reservoirs , Part 1 : Overview and Lithofacies 14
Although shale gas plays have been in the spotlight recently, natural gas in tight sandstones is actually also an important hydrocarbon resource. In many cases, tight gas sandstone resources can be developed more easily than shale gas reservoirs as the rocks generally have higher quartz content, and are more brittle and easier to complete for production. This chapter first gives an overview of ...
متن کاملRock physics based facies classification from seismic-inversion results in unconventional reservoirs
The objective of this study is to demonstrate the power of integrating rock physics theory, measurement and simulation to improve facies prediction in an unconventional limestone and shale reservoir. Reliable facies prediction is a challenge in unconventional reservoir characterization because of complex geological heterogeneities. Both deterministic and probabilistic approaches are commonly us...
متن کاملPore throat size characterization of carbonate reservoirs by integrating core data, well logs and seismic attributes
Investigation of pore system properties of carbonate reservoirs has an important role in evaluating the reservoir quality and delineating high production intervals. The current study proposes a three-step approach for pore throat size characterization of these reservoirs, by integrating core data, well logs and 3D seismic volume. In this respect, first the pore throats size was calculated using...
متن کاملPore Structure and Limit Pressure of Gas Slippage Effect in Tight Sandstone
Gas slip effect is an important mechanism that the gas flow is different from liquid flow in porous media. It is generally considered that the lower the permeability in porous media is, the more severe slip effect of gas flow will be. We design and then carry out experiments with the increase of backpressure at the outlet of the core samples based on the definition of gas slip effect and in vie...
